This DMV and its staff are great! I took the hour drive to come to this one, even though I live right down the street from one that I'm not too fond of (Pearl). It was definitely worth it, even though I didn't pass my test, because of how friendly the workers were and how organized everything was. It makes a difference when the workers are nice, happy, and courteous to the patrons. So, thank you Brookhaven DMV employees for loving your jobs and keeping smiles on your faces. It is greatly appreciated!
All of my experiences here have been pretty good. The only problem I have with them now, is the phones are CONSTANTLY busy. Even at 8:15 in the morning when I was calling I was still getting the busy tone. I’m sure it’s somthing wrong with there phones. It’s been like this for me for around a week.
I'm a USMC veteran, former Deputy Sheriff and a CDL Examiner in La. I train oilfield students for numerous oilfield related companies and recently had an extremely terrible experience with the Pearl, Ms. Dps. It was as bad as Marine Corps boot camp. I've never talked to an inmate the way their CDL Examiner talked to me and my guys. She mistakenly read my insurance card wrong, cancelled my students test, and refused to discuss it when I pointed out her mistake. Then they failed my other student because it's what they wanted to do and to no fault of his own. I was standing there listening to his entire test. I was told that the Brookhaven Dps had helpful, friendly employees and that's why I'm taking my students there. Another reviewer stated they live right down the street from the Pearl Dps and they won't go there because of the attitudes. They need to make some serious changes. Also I'll mention that one of the patrons in the Pearl Dps had a seizure after being talked to badly while we were there and was rushed to the hospital.
People were real friendly and I was in and out. Normally going to the DMV is an all day thing if you aren't there early. This was very pleasing.
